Gender Approach Training manual in West Africa

The manual you are looking at was prepared for you by the Regional Support Unit (RSU) of the Sustainable Fisheries Livelihoods Programme (SFLP) with contributions from the National Coordinating Units, NGO’s and fishing communities that participated in the 9 case studies undertaken in Benin, Ghana, Congo, Gambia, Niger and São Tome and Principe between December 2002 and January 2003.

The Regional Support Unit capitalized the experiences from these case studies and they are featured in the manual in the form of advices, real life experiences and illustrations.

The selected working tools proposed in the manual were tested and chosen from among other tools from the gender analysis manual of other agencies.

These tools were adopted and documented with real-life experiences. The
directory of tools features our observations and advice.
